Founded in 1970 by Late Dr. M. C. Prabhakar and Dr. Savitha Prabhakar, Laxmi Hospital began as a general specialty hospital with a simple mission: to deliver trusted medical care to the community. Over the decades, it has grown into a comprehensive multi-specialty center, offering advanced treatments across disciplines while staying true to its core values—personalized care, medical excellence, and a humane touch for patients of all ages in Kochi.
Our Journey
Laxmi Hospital was founded in 1980 by Late Dr. M. C. Prabhakar and Dr. Savitha Prabhakar. Before establishing the hospital, Dr. Savitha had earned her M.B.B.S. from Mysore Medical College, Karnataka, and served in the obstetrics and gynaecology departments of several leading institutions—rising from Senior Resident to Head of Department.
What began as a modest maternity and general medicine hospital soon became one of Kochi’s most trusted healthcare centers. Rooted in devotion, dedication, and honesty, Laxmi Hospital steadily expanded its specialties to include General Surgery, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Cardiology, Gynaecology, and more, earning the trust of generations of families.
In 2018, the hospital marked a major milestone with the addition of two state-of-the-art ICU units, led by Dr. Prasan Prabhakar, who introduced advanced treatments and modern medical practices.
Today, with a proud legacy spanning 55 years, Laxmi Hospital remains a symbol of compassionate care—especially for people across all walks of life. Our team of skilled obstetricians, gynecologists, and pediatricians continues to uphold this mission, blending expertise with empathy to light the way toward a healthier tomorrow for every family.
